"Though most people love to look at the games of the great attacking masters, some of the most successful players in history have been the quiet positional players. They slowly grind you down by taking away your space, tying up your pieces, and leaving you with virtually nothing to do!" (Yasser Seirawan)

Hi
I'm organizing a Gipf competition, turn based, trough the forum of boiteajeux.net.
The deadline for register was the 31st december, but I find this website tomorrow, so if there are some players interested here a delay isn't impossible.
I think that's the biggest Gipf competition, so maybe it's a candidate for IAGO World Tour ?
Axel
Axel, that would be great. Do you have a page we can point the 2008 IAGO World Tour calendar to? Also, can you update the page? If so, we could get it on the 2008 IAGO World Tour calendar. And then page then can point back to the 2008 IAGO World Tour calendar with the words "Part of the 2008 IAGO World Tour".
The Tour won't help promote it much for 2008, but it does lend the way for future years, getting both the site and future tournament events awareness. As of now, we can agree to having it on. It may end up on the calendar after registration date is closed, but at least it would be on.
If you want to do this, then get me how many people participated and the winner (where they are located).
You can register here.
I'm not as professional as former organiser, so the competition isn't so clear I hoped.
At the moment we are 32 registers. I hope a little more from here?
I'll add a IAGO link soon
Ok, let me do a page update and give it to Aaron. So it is called "The Gipf Cup" and I would point to that URL link?
If so, I will add it that was to the World Tour page and send it to Aaron. Ok, I will be on there. It looks like you completely miss the window for the 2008 IAGO World Tour. Event should end before October 1st of 2008. I will put it on, however. I want to give time for the World Mind Sport Games. November 2008 will be the start of the 2009 IAGO World Tour.
Ok, the calendar has been updated for the IAGO World Tour.
Ok that's great !
I'm sorry the cup is so long, but turn-based...
Happy new year
and long live to IAGO
Thanks.
I realize it can take awhile. I am doing an exception for the event, because it is Gipf. 2009 and on, we will need to tighten it up. 2008 has the World Mind Sport Games, which needs to be focused on, so I didn't want to tread on that.
